Church Planting Initiative
Even in the midst of destruction and displacement, God is at work. As buildings collapse and institutions falter, Christ continues to build what will never be shaken — His Church. Amid the trauma of war, the gospel is not retreating — it is advancing. New doors are opening, new communities are forming, and lives are being changed by the power of God’s Word and Spirit.
At the heart of our mission is a deep conviction: the Church is God’s chosen means of making disciples, proclaiming truth, and displaying the beauty of Christ in a broken world. That’s why we are committed to planting, strengthening, and multiplying Christ-centered Reformed churches across Ukraine — especially now, when the need is so great, and the soil is so ready.
In recent months, the Lord has opened new gospel opportunities:
We are actively supporting two new church groups — one in Karlivka and one in Zaporizhzhia. Though both are located in regions touched deeply by war, these small communities have become places of prayer, worship, and growing faith.
Since they do not yet have full-time pastors, we are providing regular pastoral support, including preaching, sacraments, and shepherding care.
Through our YouTube channel, these congregations join our Sunday worship services and Sunday School classes online — faithfully tuning in week after week to be nourished in the Word and encouraged in hope.
These small fellowships may seem fragile, but we believe they are the seeds of something beautiful and enduring — churches rooted in Scripture, shaped by Reformed theology, centered on Christ, and committed to gospel witness in their local communities.
Why is church planting and strengthening so vital in Ukraine today?
Because in a time when so much has been lost — homes, stability, identity — people are searching for truth, hope, and belonging. The Church is not just a place to gather; it is a spiritual home, a family built by grace, and a beacon of light in the darkness.
Healthy, biblical churches are essential to:
Make and mature disciples through regular preaching of the Word and administration of the sacraments
Provide faithful pastoral care and community, especially for the suffering and displaced
Train and send out future leaders and missionaries
Serve their cities with acts of mercy and gospel-centered compassion
But we need help. These growing congregations need trained pastors, missionaries, and shepherds who are willing to serve, teach, and lead — even in hard places. We are praying fervently that the Lord would raise up godly, humble, and courageous men to serve these flocks and many others like them.
Please join us in prayer:
That the Lord would strengthen the believers in Karlivka and Zaporizhzhia, sustaining their faith and unity.
That He would raise up pastors and church planters for these new works.
That many would come to faith through these ministries — and that small gatherings would grow into thriving, Christ-centered, gospel-proclaiming churches.
In a world of rubble, Christ is laying living stones.
In a time of war, He is establishing His peace.
And through local churches — planted, strengthened, and multiplied — the Kingdom of God continues to advance.
“I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” — Matthew 16:18
